Hyperliquid tax tools compared

updated october 2026 · ~6 min · not tax advice

The honest version of this comparison: the differences between tools are not price or interface — they are whether fills come from full history or a 30-hour window, whether funding payments actually make it into the report, and whether anyone checked the totals against an independent identity. Whatever you pick, verify its output — every option on this list has documented Hyperliquid failure modes.

Dedicated HL report serviceServer-side read of wallet historyBroad coverage incl. spot, vaults, staking, HIP-3$29–$99 per wallet/yearClassifications ship as defaults flagged 'needs review'; newest entrant
Generalist suites (portfolio trackers)Direct wallet syncYes, with documented gaps — funding and perp fills can be skipped$49–$999/yr by transaction countPer-wallet sync caps (e.g. 10k transactions) silently exclude heavy accounts
High-volume ledger toolCSV / API with manual mappingHandles hundreds of thousands of transactionsFree to $65/moDense, dated UI; perp semantics need manual setup

Four checks to run on any report before you file

  • 1.Funding income is not exactly $0 — a year of open positions produces thousands of hourly settlements; a zero means the import only captured fills.
  • 2.Fill coverage spans the whole period — the venue's fill API retains ~30 hours, so an importer relying on it alone silently truncates.
  • 3.Dex markets are included — HIP-3 venues (xyz:, flx: and friends) now carry over half of perp volume; tools enumerating only the main book miss them.
  • 4.The account-value identity closes — Δ account value minus boundary flows should equal reported PnL. If your tool can't show you this check, run ours on the same address.

One thing worth saying out loud

On builder-dex-heavy accounts the venue's own series disagree with each other — its PnL history excludes unrealized dex PnL while its account-value history includes it. We've measured divergences over $5M on real wallets, and over $300M on the largest. Any tool that reports a single clean number on such an account picked a side without telling you.
